Individuals will be provided on-the-job training for all volunteer opportunities.

Bilingual volunteer perfered (Arabic/Bangla) but not required
Must have astute attention to detail for data entry.
Food sorter/stocker
Will be trained on SWAP nutrition system to organize cans on shelf according to nutrtional value
Warehouse Helper
Food Pantry Volunteers: Must be able to lift at least 35 lbs.
Warehouse Volunteers: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Minimum Age Requirement: 16 years old
VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION
To help kickstart the orientation process we ask that all volunteers view our food safety and cultural competency video’s prior to scheduled orientation.
Once you have completed viewing our videos head on over to our Sign up Genius page to sign up for your orientation date.

What to expect during your orientation:
Volunteers will have paperwork to sign (volunteer agreement form, client data protection agreement)
Get a headstart by downloading the Client data protection and Media consent form HERE, and submitting the signed form below, or bring it with you to orientation.

Kroger and Gleaners' joint collaborative event, Bringing Hope to the Table, is always held a weekend in January. Volunteers are needed on the Saturday and Sunday at each Kroger store assigned to Detroit Friendship House. Several shifts are set up throughout both days, and we generally use up to 30 volunteers.

All Volunteers must complete orientation prior to the start of their volunteer hours.
